Video of cat blender guy getting jumped debunked as footage goes viral
The viral cat blender video that has sent the internet into a fit of rage in the past week was found to have originated in China. The culprit was also reportedly arrested by the police. However, a new video surfaced online on May 7, where a group of boys could be seen beating up another boy.
The caption of the video stated that it was the culprit of the "cat in a blender" video who was getting jumped. The video was shared on Twitter by @kiekasei.
But some users pointed out that the language spoken in the video was Dutch and not Chinese. It created confusion as some people started thinking the horrific video may have been from the Netherlands. The same video of the guy being beaten up was also shared on other platforms.
One Reddit user, @Cautious_Ramen, asked whether or not the original cat video was from China. The user further clarified that they looked up the store's name shown in the video and searched for information regarding the fight. It took place in January and did not have any connection with the cat video. The fight occurred between some rivaling teens.
The viral fighting video was not about the "cat blender" culprit
In early May, a disturbing video of a cat being tortured and killed in a blender surfaced on social media, leaving netizens traumatized and furious. Although platforms like Twitter and TikTok kept blocking the video for violation of policies, users continued to share and repost it.
Over the past week, the nauseating video of animal abuse caused netizens to take action. Twitter user @scarycontent18, who shared the video, zoomed in on the blender and found the writings to be in an Asian language. The user urged their followers to translate it so that they could reach the culprit somehow.
Others detected the letters to be Chinese. Soon it was purported by some TikTokers that the man behind the heinous act was Xu Zhihui, a Chinese food blogger and that he was arrested.
However, on May 8, an apparent second part of the cat blender video surfaced on the internet, sending another wave of trauma and disgust among netizens. Everyone had since been eager to get these animal abusers locked up and punished by the law.
Amid all this chaos, the video of the boy being violently beaten up by a group of boys emerged online. However, it is being misleadingly shared as the culprit of the cat blender video being jumped.
At the same time, several users clarified that this video is not from China but from the Netherlands and bears a completely different context altogether.
There was also a text overlay in this viral video, which was written in English letters, but in some other language. When one user asked for translations, someone replied that it was Dutch. Several other users also wrote that the cat blender video was from China, and this fight video was different.
Although there has been no confirmation that the guy behind the cat blender video was indeed arrested, the viral claim about the culprit getting jumped by a group of boys is fake.
